The late singer Selena Quintilla has lived for more than two decades. And now the Queen of Music Teyano” has joined a Hollywood big star in Walk of Fame.

Simply known as Selena, she was honoured Friday night with a star.

The singer, who has won the Grammy Award, was shot dead at the age of 23 in 1995 by the former president of her fan club.

At the time, Selena was breaking records for holding as many concerts as possible, and her albums were at the top of the music boards. It was known for hits “Bidi Bidi Bam Bohm”, “Dreaming of You” and “Com la Flor”.

Fans and her family attended the ceremony together with actress Eva Longry, who said the singer has had a major impact on her career and identity.

Selena was among 34 artists selected by 300 candidates to get a new star this year.

The singer became much more famous after her death. Her life and subsequent murder were subject to a 1997 biographic film “Selena”, which has become a classic fan cult. It has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide.
