In 2004, the photograph Tuca Vieira took a picture in Paraispolis, near the affluent Morumbe district, which was a symbol of the gap between the rich and the poor of São Paulo in Brazil. He's been telling the story of this Guardian photo.
He says he took the picture for a São Paulo newspaper about a report involving the 450th anniversary of São Paulo. It was made by a helicopter with his colleague Marlene Bergamo's suggestion. But he says he had no idea that the picture in question would become so famous.
Vieira has added that the picture illustrates social inequality, which is Brazil's biggest problem and all Latin America, goes to Periscope.
