Although it may seem strange, the world is generally improving. The states are increasing their economies and populations, and are working together to build a stable global future.

In various parts of the world, war, chaos, and continuing growth of political instability are pushing some nations toward a possible failure.

To find out what such states are, one needs to see the Index of the French States (FSI), published by the Fund for Peace.

Using 12 indicators covering social, economic and political factors, the FSI makes the burden of all UN member states based on the possibility of failing as sovereign states.

Since 2014, three of the same countries have been at the helm, and one of them is the Central African Republic. The second most unstable place in the world is Somalia. This too is another European colonization site from Italy and Britain. Somalia has also suffered greatly since its proclamation of independence in 1960. This country too has fallen into dictatorship. The country says it's completely without law and extreme poverty.

But the most likely place to fail in the world is the one that has just been created: South Sudan. This country declared independence in 2011, and has been involved in a bloody civil war.
