Sweden seems determined to hold its first “festival alone for women” after a funding campaign reached its 47,000-pound target, reports the “The Independent”, Periscopi broadcast.

The Emma Knyckare community suggested this idea after some music events in the past in Sweden were damaged by charges of sexual rape.

The festival's exhibit was announced as an event for <x0jo-men” this summer, and has since set up more than its original target of 500,000 Corona (46,840 pounds) of more than 3,000 people.

Kickstarter's first page says: “in musical festivals, everyone must feel safe, which seems clear, though, year after year, the music festivals around the world have shown us the opposite”.

The festival's “Exposure wants to change this, and in the summer of 2018 we will host the world's most wonderful music festival without men. Help us create a safe space for people who want to attend a festival without feeling afraid of personal life”.

This festival will be held in the summer of 2018 for 10,000 people reserved only for women. About 22 people are working on the event.

Organisers of the Brava Festival in Norkoping, Sweden, have confirmed that next year's event will not be held following four rape reports and 23 sexual attacks allegedly held in the country.

Brêvä, celebrated as the “The biggest music festival in Sweden”, took place this year from June 28th through July 1st and performed bands such as The Kilers, The Chainsmokers, Propaths of Rage, Linkin Park and System of A Doa.

In 2016, five rapes and 12 sexual assaults were reported at the same festival./Periscopi/
