Harvey Weinstein, the Oscar award winner, charged with sexual harassment of female employees, has been fired from his company's board.
He's one of Hollywood's biggest producers and he was behind films such as Shakespeare in Love, The King's Speed and Pulp Fiction.
The directors of the Weinstein Company company said that in light of new information about his misbehavior, Harvey has been fired from work and that decision is effective immediately.
His immediate departure comes after the New York Times released a report last week on charges against the sex harassment producer dating back to 3 decades.
The charges against him have come from young girls who hoped to be part of the film industry, including famous actress Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan.
Among the charges raised was that the film producer forced women to massage him and look at him naked. In exchange for sexual favors, he promised to help them achieve a successful career.
The 65-year-old, who is one of the most powerful men in Hollywood since he is cofounder of the Miramax and Weinstein Company, has initially apologised for the way he dealt with colleagues in the past, saying he planned to take a temporary vacation. But later he rejected the 8 legal agreements report and said he would bring the case to trial.
America's President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he was not surprised at the findings about Weinstein, a great supporter of democratic candidates, forgetting the scandal he faced last year himself when he appeared in a video using a shameful dictionary while describing how he harassed women.
Weinstein, who is married to English fashion designer Georgina Chapman, formed the Miramax production house in the late 1970s with his brother and then sold it to Disney.
