Two Kosovo Government ministers in the October 22nd local elections failed jointly to get more than 1,000 votes. The first round municipal battle was lost by six Kosovo Parliament deputies, the newspaper Zeri writes today.

Although elected deputies and ministers were appointed, many of them in a few months also took the race for the October 22nd local elections, claiming to take over leadership of the respective municipalities.

Despite this, however, most of them failed on this mission from the very beginning. The two ministers of the Initiative for Kosovo, Fatmir Bytyci (Education Minister) and Bajram Hasani (of Trade and Industry), claimed to come to the helm of Pristina and Gjilan, but failed to pass the first round of elections.

Minister Hasani in Gjilan received only 665 votes, while Bytyqi in Pristina even less, 568 votes respectively. Representatives from the Initiative concerning the failures of their ministers at the local level say the party's goal was not to move to the runoff, but to be won as much at respective assemblies as possible.

And while MPs like Central Kastrati, Arba Abrashi, Mytaher Haskuka, Sami Kurteshi, Gani Dresaj, Mimoza Kusari-Lila and Agim Aliu went to the runoff, a considerable part of them failed to take such a step.

Zafir Berisha, Faton Topalli, Driton Caushi, Sali Sali Salihu, Zenun Pajaziti and Emilia Rexhepi, though convinced of the victory, did not achieve that. Despite losing some say they had no ambition for victory but only to increase the party in the respective municipalities.
